             early 1930's

             Gregory has taken two elements from the earth;
             coal and clay, and fashioned them into a lovely
             work of art. The 9 inch high, hard coal base and
             the clay, molded into a female figure, flying
             gracefully. The figure can be swiveled and is
             layered with luster glazes of pastel colors,
             highlighting her pale yellow-golden hair, blue
             eyes, and pink lips. The soft luster glazing against
             the chiseled black coal makes this work unusual
             and very interesting.
